¿Interesado en encontrar datos a su ritmo y no sabe donde empezar a usarlos en sus historias? En esta sesión, Sandhya le mostrará cómo usted puede encontrar y colectar datos, así como también establecer una hoja de cálculo apropiada y estructurar sus datos, así usted puede usarlo más tarde para análisis estadístico y visualización. En la segunda parte del taller, tendremos un intercambio de ideas en grupos, ideas de historias para datos que usted puede encontrar a su propio ritmo.

Resultado: los asistentes saldrán del taller con un entendimiento de cómo comenzar a incorporar datos en su reporte diario de trabajo y con ideas para historias que pueden comenzar en cuando salgan de la conferencia.

Requerimientos: Post-its, pantalla de proyector, marcadores y mesas que pueden ser preparadas para la segunda mitad del taller en grupos.

Interested in finding data on your beat and don't know where to start to use it in your stories? In this session, Sandhya will show you how you can find and collect data, as well as how to set up a proper spreadsheet and structure your data so you can use it later on for statistical analysis and visualization. In the second part of the workshop, we'll brainstorm in groups story ideas for data you can find on your beat.

Time: Two hours

Profile: Hacks/Hackers/Designers

Skills: Interest in using data in stories or investigations

Level: Low

Outcome: Attendees will leave the workshop with an understanding of how to start incorporating data into their daily reporting workflow and will leave the workshop with ideas for stories they can start on when they leave the conference.

Requirements: Post-its, projector screen, sharpies and tables that can be set up for the second half in a groups.
